Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer 'Gadar 2' continues to rake in the moolah at the box office. Despite getting mixed reviews from the critics, the new Hindi movie has proved to be a big money spinner. The Bollywood film, also starring Utkarsh Sharma, was released alongside Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam’s ‘OMG 2’ on August 11. Directed by Anil Sharma, the new Hindi movie has shattered several records and continues to perform well at the box office. On Thursday, 'Gadar 2' collected Rs 8.40 crore, taking the total collection to Rs 419.10 crore.

Amid the success of ‘Gadar 2’, several celebrities have congratulated the cast and makers of the new Hindi movie. However, not everyone is happy. Composer Uttam Singh has expressed disappointment with the team of 'Gadar 2' for using his original tracks in the sequel.

For the unversed, Uttam Singh had originally composed the songs 'Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ and 'Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava' for 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' which released in 2001. Both of these tracks have been recreated by music director Mithoon for 'Gadar 2'.

In an interview with Amar Ujala, Uttam Singh said, "They didn’t call me for Gadar 2 and I don’t have the habit of calling and asking for work. They have used two of my songs in the film and I have also heard that they have used the background music that I composed. They should at least have the etiquette to ask me once and talk to me before using my songs in the film.”

Talking about 'Gadar 2', the plot of the new Hindi movie revolves around a father Tara Singh, played by Sunny Deol, and how he goes to any length to bring back his son Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma) from Pakistan, where he has been held captive by army general Hamid Iqbal (Manish Wadhwa).

‘Gadar 2’ is the sequel to the 2001 hit ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, which was also directed by Anil Sharma. It was a blockbuster hit in 2001, when it clashed against the acclaimed hit ‘Lagaan’, which starred Aamir Khan. It finished with Rs 130 crore at the global box office.

Apart from Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma, ‘Gadar 2’ also stars Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, Rakesh Bedi and Dolly Bindra.

Meanwhile, 'OMG 2' opened to good reviews and turned out to be a success story, having earned more than Rs 120 crore at the box office.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday-starrer 'Dream Girl 2' has released in the theatres today (August 25), and it needs to be seen how much it affects the 'Gadar 2' juggernaut at the box office.

Nushrratt Bharuccha’s ‘Akelli’ also released in theatres today, alongside ‘Dream Girl 2’.
