“She Was My First…”: Muzammil Ibrahim Opens Up On Dating Deepika Padukone
Indian actor and model Muzammil Ibrahim has revealed that there was a time when he was dating Deepika Padukone.
Indian actor and model Muzammil Ibrahim recently revealed that he once dated Deepika Padukone. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ibrahim shared that the two were in a relationship for two years during their modelling days. Although initially hesitant to speak about it, especially since Deepika is now married, he eventually opened up when prodded further. Recalling their time together, Muzammil described their dates as “cute” and simple. The revelation has taken fans by surprise, given how little is known publicly about Deepika’s early dating life.
“I was the first guy she met in Bombay, and she was my first serious relationship. I was in a bad relationship before that. She was very confident because she’s Prakash Padukone’s daughter, and articles would be written about her even then. She proposed to me but I broke it off with her later. I was a star at that time, she was a budding model. She’s a superstar now, nobody knows me,” he said.
He also revealed that they remained good friends after breaking up and stayed in touch. However, the duo has not spoken since Deepika's marriage with Ranveer Singh.
Muzammil Ibrahim also revealed that neither of them had money, but they were very “happy” together.
“When we dated, we were both kids, we would go on dates on a rickshaw in the rain, that was very cute. When I eventually bought a car, I was making more money than her, she was very happy. Neither of us had much money, but we were very happy. I even made my DJ friend play her favourite song on loop for one and a half hours on her birthday. My mom loved her a lot,” he said.
For the unversed, Muzammil Ibrahim won the Gladrags Manhunt India pageant as Mr India in 2003. In 2007, he debuted as an actor as an lead with ‘Dhokha’.
In 2009, he then starred in ‘Horn 'Ok' Pleassss’.
Coming back to Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, the duo was blessed with a baby girl, Dua, on September 8, 2024. The couple announced the arrival of their little bundle of joy on social media.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were last seen in Rohit Shetty's 'Singham Again', which also starred Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Up next, Deepika Padukone will reportedly have a cameo appearance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love And War’. The upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial will star Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. Reportedly, she also has a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’.
