The winners of the 69th National Film Awards 2023 were announced on Thursday, and Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. In the latest entertainment news, following this win, Omar Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir commented on this development. Taking to Twitter, which has now been rebranded as X, Omar Abdullah wrote: "National integration,” with a laughing emoji.

Now, director Vivek Agnihotri has responded to the comment, saying: "This is the biggest award coming from you @OmarAbdullah. If you had commented otherwise, I would have been very disappointed. Thanks again.”

For the uninitiated, 'The Kashmir Files' got mixed reactions from fans, and it was poorly reviewed from the critics, but the movie managed to emerge as a massive success story at the box office.

The movie starring Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar and Mithun Chakraborty had released in theatres last year.

Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting also congratulated the entire team of the film on X, saying: “Today, as ‘The Kashmir Files’ receives the National Award for Best Film on National Integration, we’re reminded of the poignant tales it narrates. This film, with its heart-wrenching storytelling, sheds light on the untold stories from the Valley, echoing the pain, resilience, and hope of its people."

"Congratulations to @vivekagnihotri ji and the entire team for crafting a cinematic masterpiece that touches the soul and makes us reflect deeply. May our cinema continue to be a mirror to our society, fostering understanding and unity," he added.

At the National Film Awards 2023, Pallavi Joshi won the accolade for Best Supporting Actress for 'The Kashmir Files'.

Talking about Vivek Agnihotri's, his next film 'The Vaccine War' will be releasing in theatres on September 28, 2023 and it will be clashing against Prabhas' 'Salaar'.
