On Pay Parity In Bollywood Question, Kajol's “Pathaan” Reply
Kajol was asked about the pay parity in Bollywood, and she had the perfect response.
Kajol has been a part of the movie industry for more than 30 years and back in the day, she used to be one of the most popular actresses. In the latest entertainment news, Kajol was asked about pay parity in Bollywood, and she had the perfect response. She said that one should only ask these questions after India starts making big-scale women led films and they do as well as something like Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Pathaan'. “When you start making a ‘Wonder Woman’ for India and it does equally well as a ‘Pathaan’, then maybe there will be pay equality," Kajol said at the Jagran Film Festival in Delhi, as reported by The Indian Express.
For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' is the highest-grossing Hindi movie in India. The film broke the record of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' as it made more than Rs 530 crore in the country.
Earlier, Jaya Bachchan, while speaking to her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda on her podcast, said that the issue of pay parity rises when men are insecure.
“It’s the insecurity of a man who is sitting at the head of it. He is insecure, which is why he feels it is easier to put a woman down, in every field and in every way. It is an outcome of that kind of mindset,” she said.
For the unversed, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan were last seen together in the 2015 Hindi movie ‘Dilwale’ co-starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
Meanwhile, Kajol was recently seen in the Disney+ Hotstar show ‘The Trial’, which is the Hindi adaptation of the American television show ‘The Good Wife’.
