"Only Business, No Mafia...": Kangana Ranaut On Launching Avneet Kaur In 'Tiku Weds Sheru'
Kangana Ranaut's debut production 'Tiku Weds Sheru' stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in lead roles.
Kangana Ranaut's debut production 'Tiku Weds Sheru' stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in lead roles and the new Hindi movie will start streaming on Prime Video from June 23. Ahead of the release, Kangana Ranaut is trying her best to promote the move left, right and centre, and she also decided to open up on why she chose to cast Avneet Kaur opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui and what led to casting the young actress.
"Yes I am launching a newcomer but as a producer I am not focusing on capitalism, I'm focusing on genuinely bringing talent and outsiders into the film industry. Yes, I want to work with Avneet Kaur again but I haven't done any three-film contract which is a very common practice with any newcomers, and to take up a huge percentage of their brands, events and films for the rest of their life," Kangana Ranaut told news agency IANS.
"She has all my love and blessings and is completely free to follow her dreams. Also, in future whoever I launch, will never ever try to control their lives and career," she added.
In the latest entertainment news, Kangana Ranaut shared an excerpt from this particular interview on her Instagram story, and wrote: "Only business, no mafia business here."
For the unversed, Kangana Ranaut is herself an outsider in the movie business and she has often criticised the likes of Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for nepotism.
Tiku Weds Sheru, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a junior artiste in Hindi films and Avneet Kaur as an aspiring actress, is produced by Manikarnika Films.
At the trailer launch event, Kangana had revealed that she was initially supposed to star in the comedy film, opposite late Irrfan Khan.
Talking about ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ at the event, Kangana Ranaut said, “It feels like I am making yet another debut. This film is very special for me because I haven’t told anyone yet, but this film was launched earlier.”
The Bollywood actress added, “Many years ago, around six-seven years ago, me and Irrfan (Khan) sir were doing this film. We had invited the media and it was a big launch event. That time the film was called Divine Lovers. Unfortunately, after that my director fell ill and then we tried making it for the next two-three years but it never took off.”
