Oscar-Winning Composer Hans Zimmer To Make His Bollywood Debut With AR Rahman For Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayana': Report
As per several reports, Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer is gearing up for his Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayana'. Surely the music for this movie is going to be bombastic!
Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' has not been officially announced yet, however, we now know that the makers have begun shooting the film. Several pictures from the sets have already leaked online. For the unversed, the film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and 'KGF' star Yash as Ravana. In the latest entertainment news, we have a bombshell update for you regarding 'Ramayana' and it will blow your mind! As per a report by Pinkvilla, Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra have brought on board Oscar-winners Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman to compose the music for 'Ramayana'.
For the unversed, Hans Zimmer has composed the music for Hollywood films like 'Dune', 'Inception', 'Dark Knight' trilogy, 'The Lion King', and 'Interstellar', among others.
“Hans Zimmer is gearing up to make his debut in the Indian film industry with Ramayana. Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari have always been vocal about their global vision for this Indian epic and they are leaving no stone unturned to make that a reality. Hans Zimmer is also fascinated by the vision for the story of Lord Ram and is all ready to compose the score of Ramayana," Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
Further speaking about AR Rahman's collaboration with Hans Zimmer, the source said, "It’s a match made in heaven. Two global talents are set to team up for the present India’s story to the world."
The first part of the Ramayana trilogy has already gone on floors, and it is being touted as the most expensive film in the history of Indian cinema.
Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Yash are expected to shoot for their respective parts soon.
As per several reports, the makers are looking to release the first part of 'Ramayana' on Diwali 2025.
Recently, videos from the film's sets surfaced online. Lara Dutta is essaying the role of Lord Ram's step-mother Kaikeyi while Sheeba Chaddha is playing the role of Manthara, who is believed to be the one to convince Kaikeyi that the throne of Ayodhya belonged to her son Bharat.
