The first look of Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi's 'Ramayana' has been unveiled.

The wait is finally over as the epic first look of ‘Ramayana’ is now out. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, this highly anticipated mythological saga has officially been announced, and it already has the internet buzzing. In a grand reveal, producer Namit Malhotra dropped the first glimpse of the film. And if the response is anything to go by, ‘Ramayana’ could very well be India’s next cinematic blockbuster.

Taking to Instagram, Namit Malhotra shared a teaser video that introduced the world of ‘Ramayana’ with powerful visuals and epic ambition.

He captioned it, “Ten years of Aspiration. Relentless Conviction to bring the Greatest Epic of all time to the World. An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world’s best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of Reverence and Respect. Welcome to the Beginning. Let’s Celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama v/s Ravana. Our Truth. Our History.”

The video features an intense Yash as Ravana and a calm Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, setting the tone for what’s being described as the “war to end all wars.” Sai Pallavi’s look as Sita is yet to be revealed.

Opening with dramatic visuals of Hindu deities Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, the teaser hinted at the grand mythological backdrop while showcasing a few striking frames – including Ranbir climbing a tree and wielding a bow and arrow.

Though no actual film footage was revealed, the three-minute video is set to the powerful score of legendary composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The stylised credit sequence drew comparisons to the title montages of global hits like ‘Game of Thrones’, further elevating excitement for the film's scale and storytelling.

Netizens are already showering the teaser with praise, particularly for its impressive VFX. Comments like “3000cr loading…”, “Hollywood is nothing in front of this,” and “What crazy level VFX” filled the post’s reply section, with many fans calling it a “masterpiece in the making.”

Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Ranbir as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita. The ensemble cast includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, and Arun Govil in key roles.

The film will be released in two parts, with ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ scheduled to hit theatres during Diwali 2026, followed by the second installment in Diwali 2027.

A seven-minute-long visual showreel will follow closer to the theatrical date. With a reported budget of Rs 835 crore, it is set to become India’s most expensive film ever – surpassing even ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and ‘Adipurush’.

Along with ‘Ramayana’, Ranbir Kapoor will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama ‘Love And War’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. It is also slated to release in cinemas next year.

He will also reprise his role of Rannvijay Singh in ‘Animal Park’, the sequel to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 blockbuster ‘Animal’.
