The video opens in the sprawling courtyard of what appears to be a majestic Rajasthani palace, setting a grand and traditional backdrop. Hundreds of dancers, all impeccably dressed in pristine white, create a stunning visual canvas. This deliberate choice of white serves as the perfect calm before the storm of colours is unleashed.
The initial shots tease the festive theme, with hands beating on dhols covered in blue gulal and the symbolic preparation of paan, from which the song derives its name.
At the heart of this celebration are the four leads. Varun Dhawan, as the titular Sunny, is in his element, exuding a raw, infectious energy that drives the song forward. His charismatic screen presence and powerful dance moves are on full display, reminding audiences of his prowess in mass-entertainment numbers. Paired opposite him is Janhvi Kapoor as Tulsi, who is a vision of grace and charm. She effortlessly matches Varun's energy, and their on-screen chemistry is palpable, filled with playful teasing and romantic glances that light up the screen.
Complementing the lead pair are the equally dynamic Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra. Sanya, known for her impeccable dancing skills, delivers a sharp and spirited performance, her expressions full of joy. Rohit Saraf brings his boy-next-door charm to the festivities, and his chemistry with Sanya adds another delightful layer to the ensemble.
The camaraderie among the four actors is a highlight, as they dance, celebrate, and interact with a natural ease that suggests a strong bond, both on-screen and off.
The video's true triumph lies in its visual narrative and choreography. The progression from spotless white attire to clothes drenched in vibrant hues of pink, red, and yellow is a cinematic celebration of Holi.
Powered by a stellar line-up of singers including Khesari Lal Yadav and Pritam, and composed by A.P.S., the song's peppy, dhol-infused rhythm is the perfect soundtrack for this visual feast.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is releasing on October 2. The supporting cast of the film includes Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, Abhinav Sharma and others.
