Parineeti Chopra, who is on cloud nine after the release of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, expressed gratitude for the praise she is receiving for her performance in the film.
Imtiaz Ali’s new directorial venture ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, released on Netflix on April 12. The new Hindi movie opened to favourable reviews from critics. Viewers are also hailing the Imtiaz Ali-directorial on social media for the actors’ performances, the movie’s songs and its emotional storytelling. For the unversed, the new Hindi movie is a biopic on the life of late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who is still known as the Elvis Presley of Punjab.
Parineeti Chopra has delivered memorable performances in films like ‘Ishaqzaade’, ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’, ‘Kesari’, ‘Saina’, ‘Uunchai’. However, in the last few years, her appearance in movies has been limited. But looks like ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ will change that.
Parineeti Chopra, who is essaying the role of Amarjot Kaur (Amar Singh Chamkila’s wife and collaborator) in the new Netflix film, has been garnering immense praise for her performance opposite Diljit Dosanjh. On Monday, the Bollywood actress took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her fans.

In the video, she can be seen singing Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur’s hit song ‘Pehle Lalkare Naal’. The video was edited in half-and-half with original footage of Amarjot Kaur singing the same song.
“Amarjot ko itna pasand karne ke liye Shukriya #Chamkila. Overwhelmed with all the love that’s been pouring in… thank you… #Grateful,” the caption along the video read.
As soon as the video was shared online, fans rushed to the post’s comment section. One of them wrote, “Parineeti, you nailed the role in Chamkila.”
Another wrote, “Great performance! Much better than the so called Bollywood kids !!! Really.”
A third one commented, “Great performance pari lots of love.”
On Sunday, Parineeti had shared BTS photos from ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ sets and wrote, “Curled up in my blanket. Overwhelmed with your words, calls, and movie reviews. (tears are not stopping) “PARINEETI IS BACK.” These words are ringing loud. Hadn’t thought of this. Yes I am back, and not going anywhere!”
Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ is a biographical film based on the life of the legendary artist and electrifying live-stage performer from Punjab, who gained immense popularity during the 1980s. The film’s music has been composed by AR Rahman.
