Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha are expecting their first child and shared the news with a heart-warming social media post.
There’s a special kind of joy that comes with the promise of new beginnings. And for Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha, that journey has just begun. The couple is all set to embrace parenthood, as Parineeti and Raghav announced on Monday that they’re expecting their first child. Their heart-warming Instagram post, complete with a symbolic cake and sweet moments, left fans and well-wishers overjoyed. Parineeti Chopra wrote, “Our little universe … on its way. Blessed beyond measure.”

The announcement featured a beautifully captured image of a decorated cake placed on a silver platter laid over a soft beige fabric backdrop. Adorned with delicate white flowers, the cake was embossed with tiny golden baby feet and the sweet inscription “1 + 1 = 3”, symbolising their growing family.
The much-in-love couple also shared a video of themselves walking hand-in-hand through a scenic park, their backs turned to the camera.
The post received a flood of congratulatory messages from friends and fans alike. Sonam Kapoor commented, “Congratulations darling,” while Bhumi Pednekar chimed in with a heartfelt “Congratulations”.
Ananya Panday also commented on the post, “Awww congratulations Pari!!!”
Neha Dhupia said, “Congratulations… welcome to the best hood.”
Parineeti’s cousin sister and actress Priyanka Chopra also commented, “Congratulations,” along with a heart emoji.
Interestingly, the news comes just weeks after Raghav Chadha dropped a cheeky hint about their plans to start a family during an appearance with Parineeti on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. Host Kapil Sharma had shared a personal anecdote about his mother immediately wanting grandchildren after his marriage, and jokingly advised the newlyweds to plan early.
Following this, Raghav said, “Denge, aapko denge… good news jaldi denge.”
When Kapil pressed further with, “Good news aa raha hai kya? Laddu bantne lage kya?”, Raghav laughed and replied, “Denge… at some point.”
Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha got engaged in May 2023 at Kapurthala House in Delhi, and tied the knot a few months later on September 24 at The Leela Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
The dreamy ceremony was attended by political dignitaries, Bollywood celebrities, and close family and friends.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Parineeti was last seen in ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, directed by Imtiaz Ali.
Released on Netflix in April 2024, the film, co-starring Diljit Dosanjh, received widespread praise. Based on the life of the legendary Punjabi singer Chamkila, the biopic captured his meteoric rise in the 1980s and featured music by AR Rahman. Both Parineeti and Diljit were lauded for their powerful performances.
