"Put His Hand On My...": Sanya Malhotra Says Fan Touched Her Inappropriately
Sanya Malhotra, who is riding high on the success of her latest Bollywood movie 'Kathal', has revealed that she was touched inappropriately by a fan.
Sanya Malhotra, who is riding high on the success of her latest Bollywood movie 'Kathal', has revealed that she was touched inappropriately back in the day by a boy in Delhi Metro and no one came to her help. This revelation by the actress comes days after Aahana Kumra lost her cool at a fan who tried to hold her forearm while clicking a photo with her.
Sanya Malhotra recalled that she was returning from home in the evening from a college and it was then that a group of boys teased and touched her until she deboarded the metro.
“Women get that vibe when something is not right. I was alone so I stayed quiet. It was such a situation when I couldn’t do anything. They started teasing and touching. I felt helpless but I knew if I will say anything, anything can happen. People generally say, ‘Kuch kara kyun nahi tumne? (why didn’t you do anything?)’ But when that situation comes, haath, paer phool jaate hain (you flinch). You only want to survive that situation," Sanya Malhotra said in an interview with Hauterrfly.
“To my surprise, no one in the metro helped. I didn’t want to cry at that moment, I was fighting also. Then I got out of Rajiv Chowk and they all started following me. They were all tall, muscular men. Thank god for the crowd at that station, I rushed to the washroom and called my father. I asked him to come and pick me up. It was not a good day,” she added.
Narrating another incident where a fan touched her inappropriately, Sanya Malhotra said: "There must be footage somewhere on the internet, this happened a few years back. I was spotted somewhere and a man came for a photo and put his hand on my butt."
"I was like, ‘What the hell?’ But again, the photographers didn’t help me. They were seeing that I am not comfortable. I was so angry, I called him back and told him, ‘You did wrong’," she added.
Coming back to Sanya Malhotra, she was last seen in the new Hindi movie 'Kathal'. Helmed by Yashowardhan Mishra, the movie also stars Rajpal Yadav, Anant V Joshi, and Vijay Raaz among others.
The actress will be seen in the new Hindi movie ‘Sam Bahadur’ helmed by Meghna Gulzar. The movie, which also stars Vicky Kaushal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Manoj Bajpayee, and Saqib Ayub among others, will release on December 1.
