Raj Kundra Reveals How Shilpa Shetty Reacted To His Arrest In Pornography Case
Raj Kundra recently opened up about his arrest and how the “porn-king” tag affected him and his family.
Businessman Raj Kundra, who is married to Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, shocked the world three years ago when he was arrested for his alleged involvement in the creation and publication of pornographic films. Raj Kundra spent over two months in jail in 2021. However, he continues to deny any wrongdoing. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Raj Kundra opened up about the arrest and how the “porn-king” tag affected him and his family. Raj Kundra also spoke about how the entire case affected his marriage with Shilpa Shetty.
In his interview with Hindustan Times, he also revealed how their son Viaan reacted to the entire fiasco.
“It was horrible! But luckily, we know each other so well. If someone told me something about her, I know how much to believe. She broke into a laughter when she heard about the case and said it’s not true. If you are living at home together and there is something like porn involved, you would know. We are both self-made,” Raj Kundra told Hindustan Times.
“She knew it’s rubbish but maintained her silence and dignity. There is a public perception she had to live up to. Unfortunately, she bore the brunt of me being involved by losing certain contracts, work on television. I found that very unfair,” he added.
Raj Kundra also shared that his son Viaan was just 10 years old when the entire incident happened. He also said that Shilpa Shetty asked their son to “not to google” his father's name.
“Viaan asked what’s happening, so Shilpa told him ‘there are hundreds of questions dad has to answer. Once he does, he will be back’… Viaan was 10. Shilpa spoke to someone at his school, god knows what parents were telling their children. He is a rock solid kid. He would draw something and send it to me with a letter in jail. He would write ‘papa missing you, come back soon, finish your work’,” Raj Kundra said.
“For Viaan, I am his hero. Viaan knew his dad’s company is on his name, I would do no wrong. For him, it’s like a bad dream,” he added.
For the unversed, Raj Kundra had channelled his feelings about his time in jail through a film ‘UT69’, which released in cinemas on November 3, 2023. Apart from starring in the film, Raj Kundra also wrote it.
