According to government data, the devastating floods have so far claimed 29 lives. Rivers such as the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej have breached their banks after relentless rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, worsening the situation downstream.
The destruction has been widespread, submerging more than 1,655 villages across 12 districts. Gurdaspur remains the most severely affected, with flooding reported in 324 villages, while Amritsar, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, and Sangrur are also among the districts reeling under water.
With volunteers, NGOs, and celebrities stepping in, relief efforts continue across Punjab to provide immediate aid and long-term rehabilitation to affected families.
