Shah Rukh Khan had a memorable 2023 as he delivered three blockbusters -- 'Pathaan', 'Jawan' and 'Dunki'. Hence, it is no surprise that a leading news channel decided to award the actor with the Indian of the Year accolade. In the latest entertainment news, Shah Rukh Khan is winning a lot of praise on social media after he came to the stage to meet and greet rat-hole miners, who were phenomenal in rescuing 41 workers trapped in the Uttarkashi tunnel in November.
The CNN News 18 event honoured the real heroes behind the Uttarkashi tunnel rescue mission, which included National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Director General (DG) Atul Karwal, rat miners Munna and Wakil, foreman Gabbar Singh Negi and his colleague Saba Ahmed.
After receiving the award, the rat-hole miners were asked whether they would want SRK to make a film on the rescue mission.
“Dil bohot zyada dhadak raha hai, main aapse kya keh sakta hu,” one of the rat-hole miners said.
"Par ek khwaish hai humari, ek selfie toh banti hai aapke saath," the rat-hole miner added.
Hearing this, SRK was not able to stop smiling, and he immediately stepped onto the stage to take pictures with the rat-hole miners.
Shah Rukh Khan was also seen greeting them with folded hands and he also bowed down, showing his respect towards the real life heroes.

During his acceptance speech, the actor opened up on the arrest of his son Aryan Khan back in 2021. SRK addressed the difficult times that his family has seen in the last few years, and he also shared the valuable lesson he learnt during this time.
“The last 4-5 years have been a bit of a ride for me and my family. I’m sure for some of you also because of Covid. Most of my films flopped. Analysts started writing my death knells,” he said before comparing the trade analysts to “idiots”.
On the work front, SRK was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki', which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar.
The film has made more than Rs 220 crore in India and globally, it has crossed the Rs 450 crore mark.
