"Shame On You": Kangana Ranaut Says Karan Johar Should "Retire" As 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' Releases
'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' released on Friday, and Kangana Ranaut took the opportunity to take a dig at Karan Johar. She even said Ranveer Singh should "dress like a normal human being".
As Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' released in the theatres on Friday, everyone was wondering why actress Kangana Ranaut has not said anything. For the uninitiated, Kangana Ranaut has always had some things to say about Karan Johar whenever his movie releases in theatres. Earlier this year, Kangana Ranaut had taken a potshot at Karan Johar when Dharma Productions' backed venture 'Selfiee' starring Akshay Kumar, tanked at the box office.
In the latest entertainment news, Kangana Ranaut on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Karan Johar, asking him to "retire."
In one Instagram Story, Kangana Ranaut wrote: "Audiences can't be fooled anymore, audiences have rejected atrocious and creatively poor films full of fake sets and costumes, who dresses like this in real life also where are tacky houses like these in Delhi? What rubbish! Shame on Karan Johar for copying his own vintage work of the nineties and also how come he spend 250 cr on this stupidity? Who gives them this kind of money while real talent struggle to get funds."
Kangana Ranaut cited the example of Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' and how it told the story of an atomic bomb story being made, while Karan Johar continues to make same "saas bahu movies."
"India audiences watching 3 hour long film on the origin of nuclear weapon and intricacies of atomic science aur yahan nepo gang ka wahi saas bahu ka rona, lekin why he needs 250 cr to make a daily soap? Shame on you Karan Johar for making the same film nth time, calling yourself the flag bearer of Indian cinema and perpetually regressing it. Don't waste funds it's not easy time for the industry, retire now and let young filmmakers make new and revolutionary films," Kangana said.
The 'Queen' actress also had some advice to offer for Ranveer Singh, saying the actor should stop following Karan Johar, and he should "dress up like a normal human being."
"My sincere advice to @ranveersingh he should stop getting influenced by Karan Johar and his dressing sense, he should dress up like a normal human being, like Dharm ji or Vinod Khanna ji dressed in their days, Indian people can't identify with a cartoon looking person calling himself a hero, please see all South heros how they dress up and carry themselves with great dignity and integrity. They look manly and dignified, people don't ruin the culture in our country," said Kangana.
Kangana Ranaut might not find 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' a good movie, but critics and fans have a completely different opinion. The movie has opened to favourable reviews from both critics and fans.
The latest Karan Johar-directorial collected Rs 11.10 crore on the opening day, and the movie is expected to see a rise in collections over the weekend.
