“Aisa Toh Ho Nahin…”: Rohit Shetty Drops Major Update About ‘Golmaal 5’
Rohit Shetty, who is currently busy with his upcoming directorial ‘Singham Again’, has dropped a big update about ‘Golmaal 5’.
Rohit Shetty is one of the most celebrated Bollywood directors. And there was a time, when he was known as the box office king. Rohit Shetty really knew the pulse of the audiences, and it helped him deliver blockbusters like ‘Singham’, ‘Simmba’, ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Golmaal’ series, and more. Rohit Shetty is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Singham Again’, which stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tiger Shroff.
As ‘Singham Again’ nears its release, Rohit Shetty has hinted towards ‘Golmaal 5’ being in the pipeline. For the unversed, Rohit Shetty had first dropped a ‘Golmaal 5’ hint in the hit ‘Simmba’ song ‘Aankh Marey’, as the track featured cameos by ‘Golmaal Again’ stars Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor.
Now, during a new interview with Pinkvilla, Rohit Shetty was asked about ‘Golmaal 5’ and he said, “Abhi waqt hai. Golmaal series toh banti rahegi. Aisa toh ho nahin sakta ki nahin bane. But it will take time.”
Rohit Shetty also said that he could never replace the core members of ‘Golmaal’. “Soch bhi nahin sakta,” he added.
Earlier, while speaking to Pinkvilla, Rohit Shetty had confirmed that ‘Golmaal 5’ will come in the next two years.
For the unversed, Rohit Shetty's ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ was released in 2006 and later, he released further installments in the series. The film franchise has over the years featured actors like Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, Rimi Sen, Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Paresh Rawal.
Rohit Shetty spawned its sequel in 2008 titled ‘Golmaal Returns’. After the 2008 film, the franchise has had ‘Golmaal 3’ and ‘Golmaal Again’ so far.
Speaking further about the movie franchises he has created in his career, Rohit Shetty said, “I am very proud of it. Chahein wo Golmaal series ho ya cop universe ho.”
Coming back to ‘Singham Again’, the film is slated to be released in cinemas on Diwali 2024, and it will be clashing with Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, which also stars Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan.
