Salman Khan And Kamal Haasan In Talks To Star In Atlee’s Next: Report
Salman Khan and Kamal Haasan are currently in discussions with Atlee for India’s biggest action film.
Atlee’s 2023 directorial venture ‘Jawan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, was the biggest hit of last year. ‘Jawan’ also became the biggest blockbuster of SRK’s career and the highest grossing Hindi movie of all time. The Atlee directorial, co-starring South superstars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, made Rs 640 crore in India and over Rs 1000 crore worldwide. From SRK’s dialogues to the power-packed action scenes to the movie’s songs and Deepika Padukone’s brief yet impactful role, the movie trended big time upon its release. Since then, people have been eagerly waiting for Atlee’s next.
Recently, reports suggested that Atlee has been in talks with Salman Khan for a high-budget action thriller. In a new report by Pinkvilla, it has been reported that Atlee has been engaged in discussions with both Salman Khan and Kamal Haasan for his upcoming project.
This mega-budget action thriller, produced by Sun Pictures, is touted to be a two-hero saga, thus promising a pan-India big screen spectacle.
According to sources close to the development, Atlee has been in talks with Salman Khan and Kamal Haasan for the last few months and things are also proceeding in the right direction.
“It’s a pure two-hero feature film, which warrants the presence of genuine superstars. Both Kamal Haasan and Salman Khan have loved the idea that Atlee is working on and are excited for this collaboration. It’s a yes in principle, however, the paperwork shall happen once they hear the complete narration later this month,” Pinkvilla quoted a source close to the development.
Salman Khan and Kamal Haasan, who have immense respect for each other’s projects, could be seen in their first collaboration if this Atlee directorial materializes.
The source also said that this is a dream cast for Atlee and he is hopeful to get both the superstars on board within a month.
“After Jawan, Atlee has been working to create the biggest action spectacle of Indian Cinema, and he has now started to take steps in this direction by getting in conversations with two of the biggest megastars of Indian Cinema. He is planning to take the film on floors by early next year,” the source further shared.
As per Pinkvilla, a big technical team will also come on board for the action thriller. The work on getting a strong crew in place will begin once Salman Khan and Kamal Haasan are officially a part of the movie. The plot of the two-hero saga and other details about the film is being kept under wraps.
Salman Khan is expected to start working on Atlee’s next after finishing his work on the AR Murugadoss’ upcoming directorial ‘Sikandar’.
Kamal Haasan, on the other hand, will finish shooting for ‘Thug Life’ and ‘Indian 3’ by the end of this year, and then could proceed to work on Atlee’s next.
