Salman Khan And Karan Johar Set To Reunite After 25 Years For An Action Film. Here’s What We Know
Salman Khan and Karan Johar are all set to reunite for an epic action spectacle after previously working together on ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.
Karan Johar’s directorial debut ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, which released in 1998, remains a fan favourite even today. The movie, its dialogues, characters and songs live in our hearts rent-free. And not just the lead star cast, but the supporting actors also had memorable roles. While the movie featured Salman Khan in a brief appearance, his role as Aman left an everlasting impression. 25 years since then, Karan Johar and Salman Khan have been in talks for various projects for potential collaborations.
And now, KJo and Salman Khan are finally reuniting. As per a recent Pinkvilla report, the Bollywood megastar has come on board for director Vishnu Vardhan’s next film, which will be produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions.
A source close to development revealed to Pinkvilla that this would be Salman Khan’s next film after ‘Tiger 3’. The movie is said to be an action spectacle and will go on floors in November 2023.
“Salman Khan, Karan Johar and Vishnu Vardhan have been in talks for this massive action film for the last six months and everything has finally fallen in place. This would be Salman’s next feature film after Tiger 3. The film will go on floors in November 2023 and be shot in multiple schedules spread over a period of seven to eight months,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
The source added, “It’s a special project, and all the stakeholders are supremely excited to take the film on floors in November 2023. This would be Vishnu Vardhan’s second film in the Hindi Film Industry after SherShaah. The pre-production work will begin from August 2023, and some massive never explored before action blocks have been planned for this one.”
The source also revealed that the makers are eyeing a Christmas 2024 release for the action film.
“The yet untitled actioner is touted to be the biggest release of 2024 and the makers have blocked the biggest festive season for the same. The film will hit the big screen during the Christmas 2024 weekend, reaping benefit of the prolonged holiday period,” the source informed.
“Salman will also be spending the next few months on himself to prep for the part. It would include some physical and body language training,” the source further said.
Salman Khan is currently hosting ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’. He is gearing up for the release of ‘Tiger 3’, set to arrive in cinemas on Diwali 2023. He also has ‘Tiger vs Pathaan’ and Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ki Shaadi’ in his kitty.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar recently marked his return to the silver screen with his new directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
