Salman Khan introduced his character to fans by sharing the first look from ‘Battle of Galwan’ as he began shooting for the film.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has slipped into uniform, stepping into action mode with his upcoming film ‘Battle of Galwan’. On Tuesday, the superstar took to Instagram to unveil the first look from the patriotic drama, confirming that filming has officially commenced. The image showed Salman Khan in an army uniform, sporting a moustache and an intense gaze. A clapperboard, marked “Shot 1,” partially covered his face, signalling the start of the shoot. The still appeared to have been captured in Leh, where the film’s team is stationed for production.
The blurred background kept the spotlight firmly on Salman Khan’s soldier avatar, adding to the gravity of the moment. Salman captioned the post, “#BattleOfGalwan.”

Fans wasted no time flooding the comments section with excitement after the look dropped. Comments like “Blockbuster Loading,” “Bhai Again In Form,” and “Old swag return” dominated the reactions. While one fan wrote “Sultan is back,” others praised his military getup, declaring this marks a strong comeback for the actor.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, best known for ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, the film is reportedly based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. Earlier this month, Salman had unveiled the official motion poster of ‘Battle of Galwan’. It depicted him bloodied yet fierce in an army uniform, accompanied by the chilling line: “Over 15,000 feet above sea level, India fought its most brutal battle without firing a single bullet.”
Chitrangda Singh will star opposite Salman Khan in the upcoming film. In an interview with PTI, Salman described ‘Battle of Galwan’ as one of the most physically challenging projects of his career.
“It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I've to give more time now. Earlier, I would do it in one or two weeks, now I'm running, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. This film demands that,” Salman said, adding, “For instance, in 'Sikandar' the action was different, the character was different. But this is physically difficult. Besides, shooting in Ladakh, in high altitude and in cold water.”
He added that shooting in Ladakh’s high altitude and even in cold water has pushed him to his limits. “For instance, in ‘Sikandar’ the action was different, the character was different. But this is physically difficult. Besides, shooting in Ladakh, in high altitude and in cold water,” Salman said.
Salman was last seen in AR Murugadoss’ ‘Sikandar’ opposite Rashmika Mandanna. The film, also starring Kajal Aggarwal, Anjini Dhawan, Sharman Joshi and Sathyaraj, failed to impress critics and underperformed at the box office.
With ‘Battle of Galwan’, fans believe the actor is gearing up for a major comeback, backed by patriotism, intensity, and his trademark swagger.
