Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has dropped a big bombshell, saying he does not get enough support from the Hindi film fraternity for his movies. Amid the lacklustre performance of his latest release ‘Sikandar’, Salman Khan admitted that even he needs support at times but he does not end up receiving it as his peers assume he is self-sufficient and doesn't need it. During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the interviewer asked Salman Khan how he feels about not getting enough support from his colleagues in the Hindi film industry despite him promoting their projects.
To this, the actor replied, “Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. But, sabko zaroorat padti hai.”
Salman Khan then showed his support towards Sunny Deol’s upcoming release ‘Jaat’, which is set to hit the theatres on April 10. Additionally, Salman also acknowledged the release of Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer ‘L2: Empuraan’. For the unversed, the Malayalam film released in cinemas three days prior to the release of ‘Sikandar’.
“I hope the film (L2: Empuraan) does well... Then Jaat is also coming in sometime. With the way Sunny is going, he will hit the ball out of the park,” said Salman Khan.
Speaking of AR Murugadoss’ ‘Sikandar’, the movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anjini Dhawan, Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal and Sathyaraj. It has been underperforming at the box office and it is yet to go past the Rs 100 crore mark in India.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Sikandar' earned Rs 9.75 crore on Wednesday, the fourth day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 84.25 crore.
Earlier, Salman Khan revealed the status of another film he is working on. The Bollywood superstar stated that he will soon be starring in a movie alongside Sanjay Dutt.
"I'm doing another big action film after Sikandar. There the action is on another level. That's rustic action," he said.
"I'm doing it with my elder brother in the industry...Sanjay Dutt," he added. Salman, however, added that the director and producer for the film have not been finalised yet.
