Salman Khan Sends Rescue Boats, Adopts Villages To Aid Flood-Hit Punjab
Salman Khan has sent five rescue boats and pledged to adopt flood-hit villages in Punjab, as Bollywood and Punjabi stars unite to support relief efforts.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who was last seen in the 2025 film ‘Sikandar’, has stepped forward to aid flood-affected areas in Punjab, extending vital support through his Being Human Foundation. The state has been grappling with devastating floods triggered by relentless monsoon rains, and Salman Khan’s initiative comes as a major boost to the ongoing relief operations. According to India Today, the foundation has dispatched five rescue boats to assist with evacuations and supply distribution.
Officials confirmed that three of the boats are already in active use, helping rescue stranded families, deliver food essentials, and support volunteers in hard-to-reach zones. The other two boats were formally handed over at the Ferozepur border. Deepak Bali, Chairman of Punjab Tourism, further revealed that Being Human plans to adopt flood-hit villages near Husainiwala to ensure long-term rehabilitation for affected residents.
Salman Khan also addressed the situation during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode of ‘Bigg Boss 19’, stressing the importance of collective efforts. He said, “We are doing as much as we can. We have contributed to the relief fund. Even famous singers from Punjab are helping in every way they can, keeping their rivalries aside.”
The floods in Punjab have caused extensive damage, with the official death toll climbing to 51, as per the Department of Information and Public Relations. Continuous rainfall over the past week has forced rivers to overflow, leaving multiple districts submerged. Relief operations remain underway as thousands continue to struggle with displacement and lack of basic resources.
Bollywood and Punjabi stars have rallied together in support of Punjab during this crisis. Shah Rukh Khan expressed his solidarity on social media, offering prayers and strength to those affected. Other stars including Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Shilpa Shetty, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Alia Bhatt (who also shared donation links) amplified calls for assistance.
Meanwhile, several artists have taken direct action on the ground. Sonu Sood launched a dedicated helpline to assist victims, while Diljit Dosanjh announced he would adopt 10 flood-affected villages. Ammy Virk pledged to rebuild 200 homes.
Prominent names like Randeep Hooda, Sonam Bajwa, Gippy Grewal, Satinder Sartaaj, and Karan Aujla also joined the relief movement, underscoring the industry’s united front in helping Punjab recover from one of its worst natural disasters in recent years.
