Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has officially began shooting for his much-awaited war drama ‘Battle of Galwan’. Recently, several pictures and videos from the film’s shoot location in Leh surfaced on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the star in action. In some photos, Salman was seen posing with soldiers stationed in the region, standing alongside them outdoors. Another picture showed the actor sharing a warm moment with the family of a soldier – the serviceman holding his baby in his arms, with his wife standing by his side, as Salman smiled for the camera.

A video from the location revealed the setup with tents as crew members prepared the area for filming. Salman was also spotted inside his car, dressed casually in an olive green T-shirt, cargo pants, shoes, and dark sunglasses.

Earlier, Salman Khan himself had confirmed the start of the shoot by sharing a post on his social media handles. The post featured him in full army uniform, with a moustache and intense gaze, standing behind a clapperboard that bore the film’s title ‘Battle of Galwan’. The clapperboard, marked “Shot 1,” partially covered his face, symbolising the official beginning of the shoot. The still appeared to have been clicked in Leh, where the film’s crew is stationed.

The blurred background kept the focus firmly on Salman’s soldier avatar, adding weight to the moment. The actor captioned the post simply with, “#BattleOfGalwan.”

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. Actress Chitrangda Singh will star opposite Salman Khan.

In an interview with PTI, Salman described ‘Battle of Galwan’ as one of the most physically demanding films of his career.

“It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I’ve to give more time now (for training). Earlier, I would do it in one or two weeks; now I’m running, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. This film demands that,” he said.

He also added that shooting in Ladakh under high-altitude conditions and in cold water posed additional challenges.

Comparing it to his previous projects, Salman said the action in ‘Sikandar’ was different, but this film required far more physical endurance.

‘Sikandar’, which released in March, was directed by AR Murugadoss and starred Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi and Anjini Dhawan. Apart from films, Salman is currently hosting the 19th season of ‘Bigg Boss’, which premiered on August 24 on JioHotstar.
