“Dream Come True”: Sanya Malhotra Opens Up On Working With Shah Rukh Khan In ‘Jawan’
Sanya Malhotra, who has a key role in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Jawan’, opened up on working with the Bollywood megastar.
Sanya Malhotra, who made her Bollywood debut with the hit 2016 movie ‘Dangal’, impressed critics and viewers with her acting prowess in the Aamir Khan-starrer. After her powerful debut, the Bollywood actress went on to etch her place in millions of hearts with every movie she starred in, be it ‘Badhaai Ho’ or ‘Love Hostel’. Sanya Malhotra made sure to give the viewers something new every time. And now, the actress is going to star alongside the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan.
Sanya Malhotra, who bagged a prominent role alongside SRK, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in Atlee’s directorial ‘Jawan’, recently opened up about working with King Khan.
The actress wrapped up shooting for ‘Jawan’ last year. Expressing her excitement about the Atlee directorial, she told The Indian Express, “I am excited because I can finally talk about it. Before this I would give some really weird answers every time I was asked whether I am in Jawan or not.”
Talking about working with Shah Rukh Khan, she added, “I always hoped to work with SRK one day, so it is a dream come true. I cannot wait to see myself around him… it is a dream role, a dream film. Just to be around him makes me really happy.”
‘Jawan’, which was slated to release on June 2, was postponed and will now release on September 7. An announcement video sharing the release date of the new Hindi movie was shared by Shah Rukh Khan on Twitter.
'Jawan' would be releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Yash Raj Films had also announced that they would be distributing 'Jawan' in international markets.
'Jawan' will be SRK's second movie to release this year after 'Pathaan'. The seasoned actor is also slated to have his third release this year -- Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki'.
Apart from SRK, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, 'Jawan' will also have cameos by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt.
SRK's first release of 2023 - 'Pathaan', emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi movie of all time. The movie broke the record of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' to achieve this feat. 'Pathaan' has made more than Rs 1,000 crore worldwide.
Coming back to Sanya Malhotra, she was last seen in the movie ‘HIT: The First Case’, co-starring Rajkumar Rao.
The actress will be seen in the movie ‘Sam Bahadur’ helmed by Meghna Gulzar. The movie, which also stars Vicky Kaushal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Manoj Bajpayee, and Saqib Ayub among others, will release on December 1.
Besides ‘Sam Bahadur’, Sanya Malhotra will also be seen in the social comedy-drama film ‘Kathal’, which is going to release on May 19 on Netflix.
Helmed by Yashowardhan Mishra, the movie also stars Rajpal Yadav, Anant V Joshi, and Vijay Raaz among others.
