Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan has finally opened up about the shocking knife attack on her father, Saif Ali Khan. While speaking to NDTV Yuva, Sara Ali Khan stated “how it could have gone so wrong” as she talked about how the incident made her realise that life is so uncertain. The 'Murder Mubarak' actress also said she is grateful that her father recovered in time and everything turned out to be fine. “It makes you realise what truly matters. The entire family only felt gratitude because it could have gone so wrong,” she said.

“I am so grateful that everything is fine. It was a reminder almost of the life we have. We all talk about practising mental health. Being grateful for your life is so important. And moments like that make you realise it,” Sara Ali Khan added.

When asked whether the incident brought the family closer, she said, “It is not about being closer. He is my father, we are as close as we can be. It did not make me realise that he is my father, it made me realise that life can change overnight. So every day deserves mindful celebration. It made me realise just being grateful.”

For the unversed, an intruder stabbed Saif Ali Khan multiple times inside his Bandra home on January 16, leaving him severely injured. Speaking to Bombay Times recently, he had recalled how his kurta was drenched in blood following the attack. In a desperate attempt to get medical help, Kareena, along with their children—Taimur and Jeh—ran downstairs, frantically searching for an auto or cab to rush him to the hospital.

Detailing the moments before receiving medical aid, Saif Ali Khan shared, “I said, I kind of feel some pain. There’s something wrong with my back. She said – you go to the hospital and I’ll go to my sister’s house. She was making calls frantically – but nobody was up. And we looked at each other, and I said, ‘I’m fine. I’m not going to die.’ And Taimur also asked me – ‘Are you going to die?’ I said, ‘No.’”

“My wife sent him knowing what he would do for me. Maybe it wasn’t at the moment, it was the right thing to do. I felt good about it,” he added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Saif will be next seen in ‘Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins’. The movie also stars Jaideep Ahlawat. It promises a mix of action, suspense, and mind games as it follows the tale of a master conman orchestrating daring robberies. The Siddharth Anand directorial will release on Netflix this year.

On the other hand, Sara Ali Khan was last seen in ‘Sky Force’. Co-starring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya and Nimrat Kaur.

Next up, Sara is all set to share screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time in an upcoming action comedy film. The film will be produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. The film, yet to be titled, will be directed by Aakash Kaushik and is expected to be a unique spy comedy.

Sara Ali Khan will also be seen in Anurag Basu's ‘Metro In Dino’, co-starring Aditya Roy Kapur. It has a stellar cast including Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
