"Maathe Pe...": SRK Drops Big Update About ‘Dunki’ Release Date Amid 'Salaar' Clash Rumours
Here's what SRK had to say about 'Dunki', and its release date, amid 'Salaar' clash rumours.
What a comeback Shah Rukh Khan has made in 2023! Truly proving why he’s ‘King Khan’ with his massive box office successes – ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ after delivering a flop in the form of ‘Zero’ in 2018. Both his releases this year in total have made more than Rs 2,000 crore at the worldwide box office. But SRK is not done! He has a third release lined up this year in the form of Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki', also starring Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal.
The movie is slated to release in theatres on December 22, 2023. However, earlier this week, several reports suggested that Prabhas' 'Salaar' is also eyeing the same release date. This led to fan wars on X (formerly Twitter), and many speculated whether SRK would push the release date of 'Dunki' forward.
Amid the clash rumours with Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’, Shah Rukh Khan held a session of #AskSRK on X. During the same, Shah Rukh Khan confirmed that 'Dunki' will be releasing as planned.
When a user asked, "Dunki ki realise date fix h na," SRK replied, saying, "#Dunki Fixed hi hai. Aur kya karoon Maathe pe gudwa loon."

Ever since the news surfaced that 'Salaar' would be clashing with 'Dunki’, fan wars have erupted on social media.
A user asked SRK, "One advice to your fans to be calm and positive like you amidst this social media negativity and fan wars ? @iamsrk #AskSRK.” To this, SRK replied, "Yeah good idea. Please all of us have to have patience and dignity. No using profanities and personal negativity for anyone. God Bhagwaan Allah looks at those kindly whose words are kind. Words lead to things and things to feelings…spread love only."

'Dunki' has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani, who is known for projects like 'MunnaBhai MBBS', 'Lage Raho MunnaBhai', '3 Idiots', 'PK', and 'Sanju'. Rajkumar Hirani is yet to deliver a flop at the box office.
On the other hand, 'Salaar' has been directed by Prashanth Neel, and it features Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Ramachandra Raju, Sriya Reddy, Easwari Rao, among others.
This is the not first time that production house Hombale Films are going up against SRK. In 2018, Hombale Films' 'KGF: Chapter 1' had clashed with SRK's 'Zero', and it was the former that emerged as a massive success.
