Shah Rukh Khan First Actor Since Raj Kapoor In 1949 To Achieve This Remarkable Feat!

2023 has turned out to be a gold mine of a year for King Khan! After delivering several flops from 2010-2018, Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen with vengence, and he has made amends for every flop he has given in the past few years. 2023 started on a blockbuster note for Shah Rukh Khan as Siddharth Anand-directorial 'Pathaan' collected Rs 543 crore across all languages, to become the highest-grossing Hindi movie of all time, at that point.
His second release of the year -- 'Jawan', which hit theatres in September 2023, has now broken the record of 'Pathaan' to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all-time.
'Pathaan's record was first broken by Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer 'Gadar 2', but the Anil Sharma-directorial held the record for just one day, before losing the top spot to SRK and 'Jawan'.
With the monumental successes of 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan', SRK has become the only actor after Raj Kapoor to register two all-time grossers in the same year.
Raj Kapoor had earlier achieved the feat in 1949 with his two releases in the form of 'Barsaat', and 'Andaz'. It has taken 74 years more for an Indian actor to achieve the same feat!
And SRK is not finished yet with 2023. He has another release coming up, with Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki' slated to release in theatres on December 22, 2023.
Shah Rukh Khan will have the opportunity to one up Raj Kapoor, but one needs to see if it happens as 'Dunki' will be clashing against 'Salaar', starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan.
Earlier, SRK had become the first Indian actor to register two Rs 1,000 crore grossers at the worldwide box office in the same calendar year.
'Jawan' is the fastest movie to enter the Rs 400 crore, Rs 450 crore and Rs 500 crore club in India. It needs to be seen whether 'Jawan' manages to inaugurate the Rs 600 crore club for a Hindi movie.
Talking about 'Jawan', the Atlee-directorial also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Sunil Grover. The movie also features cameos by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt.
Speaking of SRK's next release 'Dunki', the new Hindi movie also stars Taapsee Pannu, and Boman Irani. The film will also be having a special appearance by Vicky Kaushal.
