Shah Rukh Khan leads the Hurun India Rich List 2025 celebrity rankings.

The Hurun India Rich List 2025 has been released, and while industrial giants Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani dominate the overall rankings, it’s Bollywood’s very own Shah Rukh Khan who has stolen the spotlight on the celebrity front. The superstar has officially entered the billionaire’s club, boasting a net worth of Rs 12,490 crore (approx. USD 1.4 billion) – the first time he’s crossed the billion-dollar milestone in his 33-year-long career.

The report, unveiled on October 1, stated: “Bollywood’s Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan (59), joins the billionaire club for the first time with a wealth of INR 12,490 crore.” This surge cements his position as India’s richest actor and significantly widens the gap between him and the next name on the list.

Globally, SRK now ranks richer than celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger (USD 1.2 billion), Jerry Seinfeld (USD 1.2 billion), and Selena Gomez (USD 720 million). He stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Rihanna and Tiger Woods (both USD 1.4 billion), though still trails Taylor Swift (USD 1.6 billion) and Kim Kardashian (USD 1.7 billion), according to Forbes.

Shah Rukh’s expanding wealth has been fuelled largely by Red Chillies Entertainment, the production and VFX powerhouse he co-founded with wife Gauri Khan in 2002. The studio not only bankrolls his films but also produced his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series ‘The Ba***ds Of Bollywood’ for Netflix. Red Chillies’ landmark streaming deal with Netflix in 2016, giving them rights to its entire slate, has also played a big role. Beyond cinema, SRK has diverse investments – including ownership stakes in cricket teams across leagues and major real estate holdings in the Middle East.

His opulent lifestyle is equally renowned. Shah Rukh owns Mannat, his sea-facing Mumbai bungalow valued at over Rs 200 crore, currently under renovation. While work continues, he and his family are residing in a plush four-floor Bandra apartment at a staggering rent of Rs 24 lakh per month, while wife Gauri has also leased a separate property nearby for staff accommodation at Rs 1.35 lakh per month.

The Hurun list also highlights other film stars. Shah Rukh Khan’s close friend and business partner Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta hold the second spot with a net worth of Rs 7,790 crore, thanks largely to their co-ownership of the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, which Shah Rukh also part-owns.

Hrithik Roshan follows with Rs 2,160 crore, fueled by his fitness brand HRX. Karan Johar, with Rs 1,880 crore, sits next after selling a majority stake in Dharma Productions to businessman Aadar Poonawalla, alongside his ventures in Tyaani Jewellery, Mumbai’s Neuma restaurant, and tech start-ups.

Amitabh Bachchan, at Rs 1,630 crore, rounds off the top five, with diversified investments in platforms like Swiggy and PB Fintech.

Shah Rukh’s journey from Delhi’s theatre stages to Mumbai’s Mannat has always been a rags-to-riches story, but the Hurun 2025 milestone confirms his new status as one of the richest actors in the world – a billionaire whose empire spans films, sports, and business, and whose influence remains unmatched.
