Ever since Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' released in cinemas in December 2023, fans have been wanting to know about the next project of King Khan. The Bollywood superstar had a rocking comeback as he delivered three box office hits in the form of 'Pathaan', 'Jawan', and 'Dunki'. Now, in the latest Bollywood celebrity news, we finally have clarity about SRK's next project. As per several reports, SRK will next be seen in a full-fledged role in Sujoy Ghosh's 'King'. The movie, which is being backed by Siddharth Anand's Marflix Pictures, will also star SRK's daughter Suhana Khan.
Earlier, SRK was rumoured to be attached with the project in an extended cameo, with Suhana Khan taking more of the center stage. But now, as per Indian Express, the script has been worked around to have SRK in the lead role.
'King' will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, who is known for projects like 'Kahaani' and 'Jaane Jaan'. As per Indian Express, the action sequences will be done by 'Pathaan' director Siddharth Anand, who has been tasked to oversee and assemble the best international team to execute “action of a global scale”.
Multiple reports also state that the budget of 'King' will be more than Rs 200 crore. The movie will reportedly feature SRK as a mentor to Suhana's character and it is going to be in the same zone as the 1994 acclaimed movie 'Leon'.
'King' is expected to go on floors later this year. The makers are looking to release the film in the second half of 2025.
Suhana Khan who made her acting debut last year with 'The Archies', will be making her big screen debut with 'King'.
'King' will now be SRK's first film after blockbusters like 'Pathaan', 'Jawan' and 'Dunki'.
Post 'King', SRK is likely to begin shooting for 'Pathaan 2'.
