‘Jawan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi, is the biggest blockbuster that Hindi cinema has ever seen. The Atlee directorial, featuring Deepika Padukone in an impactful special appearance, was released in cinemas in September 2023. The 2023 movie smashed records left, right, and centre, grossing more than Rs 1,100 crore worldwide. Hence, it is no surprise that SRK's second release of 2023 dominated the recently-held Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024. At the award ceremony, SRK was given the Best Actor accolade for his performance in ‘Jawan’, in which he had a double role.

For the unversed, SRK played the characters of Azad and Vikram Rathore in the film.

“Bahut saal hogaye mujhe best actor ka award nahi mila, aisa lagne laga tha ki ab milega he nahi. Toh mujhe bahut khushi hain, mujhe awards bahut achhe lagte hain, main bahut greedy hu,” Shah Rukh Khan said in his acceptance speech.

“Bahut saare logo ki mehnat hai iss film mein (Jawan), I promise I'll keep working hard to entertain people. Thank you very much,” he added.

At Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024, Nayanthara was given the Best Actress accolade for her performance in ‘Jawan’. SRK presented the actress with the award, and he was also seen giving her a forehead kiss.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, several other celebrities including Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rani Mukerji, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and more attended the awards ceremony.

Speaking of SRK, a recent report from Pinkvilla stated that the actor is gearing up for ‘Pathaan 2’. The report stated that the film will be going on floors by the end of this year. For the unversed, ‘Pathaan’ marked the return of SRK to the silver screen after a gap of more than four years, and the movie collected more than Rs 1,000 crore worldwide.

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's ‘Dunki’. The movie also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochhar.
