Shah Rukh Khan "Unequivocally Denies" Playing Role In Getting Indian Navy Officers Released From Qatar
Shah Rukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani released a statement, stating that the actor had no role in getting the Indian navy officers released from Qatar.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has broken his silence, confirming that he had no role in getting all eight former Indian Navy personnel released from Qatar custody. The actor through his manager Pooja Dadlani, released a lengthy statement, after BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked SRK to intervene in the matter.
"Regarding the reports concerning Shah Rukh Khan's purported role in the release of India's naval officers from Qatar, the office of Mr. Shah Rukh Khan says that any such assertions of his involvement are unfounded, emphasizing the execution of this successful resolution solely rests with the Indian government officials and unequivocally denies Mr.Khans participation in this matter," the statement read.
"Additionally, all matters involving diplomacy and statecraft are best executed by are very able leaders. Mr. Khan, like many other Indians, is happy that the naval officers are back home safe and wishes them all the best," it added.

Earlier, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had targetted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking him to take Shah Rukh Khan to Qatar.
“Over the next two days, I will be visiting UAE and Qatar to attend various programmes, which will deepen India’s bilateral relations with these nations," tweeted PM Modi.
To this, Subramanian Swamy replied, "Modi should take Cinema star Shah Rukh Khan to Qatar with him since after MEA and NSA had failed to persuade the Shiekhs of Qatar, Modi pleaded with Khan to intervene, and thus got an expensive settlement from the Qatar Shiekhs to free our Naval officers.”
For the unversed, the Qatari court had released all eight former Indian Navy personnel from its custody.
Following the release, the MEA said, "The Government of India welcomes the release of eight Indian nationals working for the Dahra Global company who were detained in Qatar. Seven out of the eight of them have returned to India. We appreciate the decision by the Amir of the State of Qatar to enable the release and home-coming of these nationals.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki'. The film which released in cinemas in December 2023, also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar.
Shah Rukh Khan is expected to announce the next slate of his films soon.
2023 was a memorable year for SRK as he delivered three box office hits in the form of 'Pathaan', 'Jawan', and 'Dunki'.
