According to a report by Hindustan Times, Punjab is experiencing its most severe floods in almost 40 years. Between August 1 and September 1, at least 29 people lost their lives across 12 districts. The overflowing of major rivers – Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej – due to heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir has caused widespread destruction. Pathankot has reported the highest number of fatalities with six deaths. Three deaths each have been confirmed in Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mansa, Rupnagar, and Barnala, while five other districts have each reported one casualty.
In addition, three people remain missing in Pathankot. Government data revealed that around 2.56 lakh people have been affected across the state, with Gurdaspur district alone accounting for 1.45 lakh residents in 321 flood-hit villages.
Coming back to Shah Rukh Khan, he is gearing up for his next big project ‘King’, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film features an ensemble cast including Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, among others.
