Shah Rukh Khan will be making his first-ever appearance at the Met Gala, which is organised at the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Shah Rukh Khan’s global stardom continues to soar. And now, the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ is set to mark another historic milestone. Known for drawing massive crowds both in India and overseas, SRK will soon make his much-anticipated debut at the prestigious Met Gala, held at New York’s iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art. Adding to the excitement, he will team up with Sabyasachi, one of India’s most celebrated fashion designer, for this landmark moment — a collaboration that's bound to turn heads and further cement Shah Rukh Khan’s legacy as a true global icon.
The rumours of SRK appearing at the Met Gala started after fashion Instagram page, Diet Sabya, hinted at the Bollywood superstar attending the annual event early in April. On Sunday, the Instagram account confirmed that Shah Rukh will walk the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art at Met Gala 2025.

The superstar will make history by becoming the first-ever Indian actor to attend the Met Gala. Bollywood actress Kiara Advani, who is expecting her first child with husband and actor Sidharth Malhotra, will also attend the high-profile fashion event. They will be joined by actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh at the star-studded event. Met Gala 2025 is set to take place on May 5.
Earlier, Indian actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra had attended the Met Gala.
The theme of Met Gala in 2025 is ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,’ inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book 'Slaves to Fashion'. The dress code for the event is ‘Tailored for You,’ and it will showcase how the guests interpret the evolution of Black menswear.
Speaking about SRK’s work front, he recently lent his voice to the Hindi version of Disney's 'Mufasa: The Lion King'. It released in Indian theatres on December 20, 2024.
SRK will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s 'King', alongside Suhana Khan. The film will reportedly also star Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma. The movie is being jointly bankrolled by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand's Marflix Pictures.
SRK was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki'. The superstar had delivered three hits in 2023 in the form of 'Pathaan', 'Jawan', and 'Dunki'.
'Pathaan' marked Shah Rukh Khan's return to the big screen after a gap of more than four years after his 2018 film ‘Zero’ tanked at the box office.
