'Shaitaan' Advance Booking: Will Ajay Devgn-Starrer Bigger Opening Than 'TBMAUJ' And 'Article 370'?

2024 has been a hit-and-miss year for Bollywood so far. Expectations were sky high from Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor's 'Fighter', but the movie underperformed, and it went on to collect a little more than Rs 200 crore in India. Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' then exceeded everyone's expectations, and it is still going strong at the box office, having crossed more than Rs 80 crore.
Yami Gautam's 'Article 370' was released in cinemas on February 23, and the movie has already gone past the Rs 50 crore mark. Now, all eyes are on Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika-starrer 'Shaitaan', which will release in cinemas on Friday, March 8.
The new Hindi movie is recording respectable advance booking, and it needs to be seen whether the film will be able to register a double-digit opening or not.
As of now, 'Shaitaan' directed by 'Queen' filmmaker Vikas Bahl, has sold 87,916 tickets for the opening day in India, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. The film has already grossed Rs 2.03 crore, before releasing in cinemas.
For the unversed, 'Fighter' had recorded an opening of Rs 24.60 crore. 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' collected Rs 7.02 crore on Day 1 while 'Article 370' minted Rs 6.12 crore on the opening day of its release.
As per Pinkvilla, 'Shaitaan' has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 12 minutes.
Talking about 'Shaitaan', the film has been produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of Devgn Films, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios.
'Shaitaan' revolves around a happy family and how their lives take a turn for the worse after meeting a mysterious man. The family soon realises that they are in danger and they must fight for their survival.
Apart from 'Shaitaan', Ajay Devgn will also be seen in 'Maidaan', which will be clashing with 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'.
