Shakti Kapoor Heaps Praise On ‘Animal’ Co-Star Ranbir Kapoor, Says Wish Rishi Kapoor “Was Alive To Witness His Success”
Shakti Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor worked together in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 directorial venture ‘Animal’.
Shakti Kapoor, who has been a part of the Indian film industry for decades, made his acting debut in 1975 with the film ‘Do Jasoos’. Later, he worked in numerous popular movies like ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, ‘Gunda’, ‘Rocky’, ‘Qurbani’, ‘Karma Indian’, ‘Khuddar’, and ‘Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri’. Shakti Kapoor recently appeared in filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor. In the new Hindi movie, Shakti Kapoor played the role of PK Mishra, a close confidante of Anil Kapoor’s Balbir Singh and Ranbir Kapoor’s Ranvijay Singh.
And in real life, Shakti Kapoor is known to have a close bond with Ranbir Kapoor’s late father and actor Rishi Kapoor. During a recent interview, Shakti Kapoor said that he wished Rishi Kapoor was alive to witness Ranbir Kapoor’s success.
In an interview with ETimes, Shakti Kapoor said, “I only wish Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) was alive to witness the success his son has achieved. I proudly call his son one of the best actors in the industry.”
Shakti Kapoor also went on to highlight the fantastic bond that existed between Rishi Kapoor and his son.
He said, “Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) was one day younger than me. His relationship with his son was amazing. They loved each other. Both our families were close and when our kids were younger, we even went to holidays together.”
Speaking about the massive success of ‘Animal’, Shakti Kapoor said, “It feels absolutely amazing. I always knew the film would be a success. The very first day when I shot with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, I told him that this film is going to do a mind-blowing business. When I heard the script, it was crazy good. They got some of the finest actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and of course, Shakti Kapoor (laughs). It's got energy.”
‘Animal’ features a star-studded cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Anil Kapoor. The film revolves around a violent world set against the backdrop of a troubled father-son relationship.
Meanwhile, Shakti Kapoor will be next seen in ‘My Husband's Wife’, produced by Vashu Bhagnani.
On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for his next film ‘Ramayana’, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film will also star Sai Pallavi and Yash. Reportedly, Sunny Deol is in talks to join the movie’s star cast.
