“I Did Bigg Boss For...”: Shakti Kapoor Reveals Why He Participated In Salman Khan’s Show, Says It’s “Not Scripted”
Shakti Kapoor recently opened up about his participation in ‘Bigg Boss 5’ and shared that it’s not a “scripted” show.
Shakti Kapoor, who has been a part of the Indian film industry for decades, made his acting debut in 1975 with the film ‘Do Jasoos’. Later, he worked in numerous popular movies like ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, ‘Gunda’, ‘Rocky’, ‘Qurbani’, ‘Karma Indian’, ‘Khuddar’, and ‘Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri’. He also had a brief stint on television when he participated in the Salman Khan-hosted reality show ‘Bigg Boss 5’. In a recent interview, Shakti Kapoor opened up about his participation in ‘BB 5’ and dismissed claims that it’s a “scripted” show.
“I did Bigg Boss for an experience,” said Shakti Kapoor during his appearance in the Timeout with Ankit podcast.
He further said that he didn't do well inside the house because he “couldn’t fight or shout” like other contestants.
Shakti Kapoor also said that he had kept a photo of his family on his bedside, and he would hear them calling him out every time he did something wrong.
“Unki awaaz aati thi… chapped padhti thi,” he laughed.
The veteran actor shared how the show was a “good experience” for him. On being asked if it’s a scripted show, Shakti Kapoor dismissed the same saying, “Not at all.”
For the unversed, the fifth season of ‘Bigg Boss’ was hosted by Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. Initially, Shakti Kapoor was the only male contestant in a house full of women. Later, several participants came in through wild card entries.
The fifth season of ‘Bigg Boss’ was won by Indian actress Juhi Parmar, best known for her role in the hit TV show ‘Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan’.
‘Bigg Boss’ is an Indian adaptation of the popular reality show ‘Big Brother’. ‘Bigg Boss’ began in 2006 and was hosted by Arshad Warsi.
The subsequent seasons were hosted by Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan. Salman Khan started hosting it in 2010 and has served as its host ever since. The 17th season of ‘Bigg Boss’ is slated to premiere on October 15, 2023. As per reports, ‘Bigg Boss 17’ will see a few celebrity couples along with a few singles.
As of now, Ankita Lokhande-Vicky Jain, Aishwarya Sharma-Neil Bhatt, Khushi-Mohit Choudhary, Isha Malviya-Abhishek Kumar are said to be participating in the Salman Khan-hosted show.
