Shatrughan Sinha Says “Khamosh” To People Spreading “Lies” About Him Not Attending Daughter Sonakshi Sinha's Wedding
Sonakshi Sinha's father Shatrughan Sinha has confirmed his attendance at her wedding with Zaheer Iqbal.
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has been making headlines due to her upcoming wedding with long-time boyfriend and actor Zaheer Iqbal. As per several reports, the celebrity couple is slated to tie the knot on Sunday, June 23. Now, after weeks of speculation, Sonakshi Sinha's father Shatrughan Sinha has confirmed his attendance at the wedding. For the unversed, several reports were suggesting that the Sinha family might not be attending the wedding. However, Shatrughan Sinha has now said in an interview that his daughter Sonakshi Sinha has every right to choose her partner.
“Tell me, whose life is it anyway? It’s just the life of my only daughter Sonakshi, whom I am very proud of and immensely fond of. She calls me the pillar of her strength. I will be there at the wedding, certainly. Why shouldn’t I and why won’t I? Her happiness is my happiness and vice versa. She has every right to choose her partner and the other details of her wedding,” the veteran actor told Zoom.
The actor-politician also said that he was recently “extremely tied up” with political work in Delhi.
When asked about the rumours of tension in the Sinha household, Shatrughan Sinha said, “Those who are coming out with fake news are just sounding very frustrated with this joyous occasion as they are spreading nothing but lies. I would like to caution them with my signature dialogue: Khamosh, it’s none of your business. Mind only your business.”
Earlier, former Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Pahlaj Nihalani, who happens to be a family friend, told Times Now that while Shatrughan Sinha was upset with his daughter, he would be attending the wedding anyway.
Sonakshi’s brother Luv Sinha had earlier reacted to the reports of her sister's wedding to Zaheer Iqbal.
Speaking to ETimes, Luv said, “I’m out of Mumbai at the moment, and if it’s regarding the news published, I have no comment or involvement in the matter.”
A few days ago, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s wedding invite was leaked online. The wedding invite also included an audio which featured a sweet message from Sonakshi and Zaheer.
While the celebrity couple has remained tight-lipped about their wedding, other celebrities have confirmed their wedding.
Veteran Indian actress Poonam Dhillon recently confirmed receiving an invitation and extended her best wishes to the couple. Rapper Honey Singh also extended wishes to the celebrity couple.
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal have been rumoured to be dating since 2020. They had shared screen space in the 2022 film ‘Double XL’. They also featured in the music video ‘Blockbuster’ last year.
