Watch: Shilpa Shetty Refuses Selfie Request From Female Cop At Ganpati Darshan In Mumbai
Shilpa Shetty declined a selfie request from a police officer during her visit to Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati pandal.
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra was spotted at the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati pandal in Mumbai on Tuesday to seek blessings during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. However, a video from her visit has gone viral on social media, drawing attention for an unexpected moment. In the clip, Shilpa Shetty can be seen making her way towards the Ganpati idol when a female police officer taps her on the shoulder, seemingly requesting a selfie. The female police officer can also be seen holding out her phone for the selfie.
The actress turns, gestures with her finger, and politely refuses. Her bodyguards can also be heard intervening, cautioning, “Madam, yeh mat karo.”

While the Shetty-Kundra family is known for their elaborate Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations each year, Shilpa chose not to bring Ganpati home this time, citing a family bereavement. No additional details were disclosed about the loss.
Separately, Shilpa Shetty took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the closure of her popular Mumbai restaurant, Bastian Bandra – once a star-studded hotspot frequented by paparazzi and celebrities.
“This Thursday marks the end of an era as we bid farewell to one of Mumbai's most iconic destinations — BASTIAN BANDRA. A venue that gave us countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city's nightlife now takes its final bow,” she wrote.
She also revealed that a farewell event was being curated: “To honour this legendary space, we're curating a very special evening for our closest patrons — a night filled with nostalgia, energy, and magic, celebrating everything Bastian has stood for one last time. While we say goodbye to BASTIAN BANDRA, our Thursday night ritual Arcane Affair will continue next week at BASTIAN AT THE TOP, carrying forward the legacy in a brand-new chapter with brand new experiences.”
The announcement came amid controversy, as Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, are currently facing allegations of a Rs 60 crore fraud. Businessman Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services Ltd, has accused the couple of taking money under the pretext of expanding their business but diverting it for personal use instead. Their lawyer, Prashant Patil, has strongly denied the charges in a statement to ANI.
Bastian Bandra had long been a hotspot for Mumbai’s glitterati, with paparazzi often stationed outside to capture celebrity arrivals and exits.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Shilpa Shetty is currently judging ‘Super Dancer Season 5’ alongside Geeta Kapur and Marzi Pestonji. She was last seen on screen in ‘Sukhee’, which also starred Amit Sadh, Dilnaz Irani, Kusha Kapila, and Pavleen Gujral.
Up next, she is set to make her comeback to Kannada cinema after 18 years with ‘KD: The Devil’, co-starring Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, and Nora Fatehi.
