Veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, better known as Birbal, has died aged 84.

Veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, better known by his stage name Birbal, has died aged 84. The actor passed away due to age related issues. As per The Indian Express, the actor died around 7:30 pm on Tuesday. He was previously admitted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. In the latest entertainment news, Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) has condoled the demise of the actor. 

"CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Birbal (Member since 1981)," the official handle wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Over the course of his career, the actor appeared in more than 500 films, mostly playing comic characters.

Birbal also tried his hand in Punjabi, Bhojpuri and Marathi cinema.

He had famously played the role of a prisoner in Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra-starrer blockbuster 'Sholay'. He had also played a role of drug addict in 'Anurodh'.

The actor was born in 1983 and he got his first big break with V Shantaram’s 1967 film 'Boond Jo Ban Gayee Moti', starring Jeetendra and Mumtaz. 

Over his career, he has appeared in movies like 'Aradhana', 'Mera Naam Joker', 'Gambler', 'Akhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se', 'Karz', 'Kranti', 'Anjaam', and 'Mr & Mrs Khiladi'. 

He also worked in several Manoj Kumar films such as 'Upkar', 'Roti Kapda Aur Makaan', and 'Kranti'. 

The actor was last seen in 2022’s '10 Nahi 40'.
