Amar Kaushik’s 2024 directorial ‘Stree 2’ took the box office by storm, delivering laughs and thrills in equal measure. The movie, starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi, minted more than Rs 600 crore in India. But soon after its release, a battle for credit broke out on social media with fans debating which actor was more responsible for the movie’s golden run. Now, the film’s cast has finally decided to settle the debate – with a hilarious video that put an end to the credit war once and for all!
Star Gold's official Instagram handle shared a video, in which the entire team of ‘Stree 2’ can be seen discussing about the film’s credit.
“So logon ne itna pyaar diya humari Stree 2 ko. To mujhe lagta hai humari jo ye Stree 2 hai,” said director Amar Kaushik.
To this, Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Jana in the film, said, “Wo meri film hai." Shraddha Kapoor cracked up, saying, "Ye meri film hai."
Rajkummar Rao then also chipped in, claiming the film to be his. "Bolne ki zarurat nahi hai, audience ko pata hai Stree 2 meri film hai,” Rajkummar Rao said.
Aparshakti Khurana then cited one of his old interviews, saying, "Baat khulegi toh dur tak jaayegi." Everyone then stopped Aparshakti from saying anything further.
The team finally settled the debate with them saying, “Ye picture humari picture nahi, ye aapki (audience) picture hai.”

For the unversed, 'Stree 2' will be having its television premiere on Star Gold on Saturday, March 15, at 8 pm.
'Stree 2' earned more than Rs 800 crore worldwide. It also became the first non-action film to enter the Rs 500 crore club. The movie also featured cameos by Varun Dhawan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar.
Amar Kaushik had earlier spoken about the credit war, saying that this has not affected the team's relationship with each other. Speaking to India Today about the same, Amar Kaushik said, “Honestly, fans of stars usually have this fight on social media where they claim their favourite actor should get all the credit for the movie. It is okay. It is really to each their own. Fans getting into a social media war over credits is common.”
“Also, when a film does well, people around [the stars] feed such things in the minds of everyone, including the cast, that they should get credit for the movie. Hence, I just went for a vacation to stay away from the noise because it is usually when you hit a certain mark is when it becomes easier to get trapped in such social media games,” he added.
