“Mujhe Ladkiyan…”: Shraddha Kapoor Recalls Being Rejected After Proposing To Varun Dhawan
Shraddha Kapoor shared an amusing story from her childhood when she proposed to Varun Dhawan.
Bollywood stars Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, who have been childhood friends, reunited for the new Hindi movie ‘Stree 2’. Varun Dhawan made a cameo appearance as his character from ‘Bhediya’ in Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2’. The Amar Kaushik directorial, which released in cinemas on Independence Day 2024, has been performing phenomenally well at the box office. It has so far collected over Rs 200 crore at the box office. Amid the success of ‘Stree 2’, Shraddha Kapoor shared an amusing story from her childhood when she proposed to Varun Dhawan.
Speaking on a podcast with Shubankar Mishra for his YouTube channel, Shraddha Kapoor shared that she had proposed to Varun at the age of eight and was rejected by the ‘Badlapur’ actor.
Shraddha Kapoor revealed, “Bahut purani kahani hai. Logo ko pata hai ye. Varun ne mera proposal reject kiya tha. It is very funny. Hum humare dads ke shoot pe gaye the. Mujhe bachpan mein Varun pe chhota sa crush tha. Hum mountain top pe gaye, waha pe khelte khelte gaye. Maine bola, ‘Main ek baat bolungi Varun, main ulta bolungi to aap uska meaning samajh jaana’. Maine bola, ‘You love I’. Usne bola, ‘Mujhe ladkiyan pasand nahi hain’. Aur wo bhaag ke chala gaya fir.”

Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have many fan pages dedicated to them, owing to their crackling on-screen chemistry in movies like ‘ABCD 2’ and ‘Street Dancer 3D’.
Their chemistry in the promotional romantic track of ‘Stree 2’ titled ‘Khoobsurat’ is also being praised.
‘Stree 2’ also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee. Apart from Varun Dhawan’s cameo, the movie also features special appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar.
The movie is part of Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe, which also includes ‘Bhediya’ and ‘Munjya’.
‘Stree 2’ is enjoying a dream run at the box office. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has so far earned Rs 229.55 crore in India. In terms of worldwide collection, the film has so far grossed Rs 283 crore.
The new Hindi film's performance becomes all the more remarkable, considering it clashed with 'Vedaa' and 'Khel Khel Mein'.
Starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Pragya Jaiswal, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal and Fardeen Khan, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ has so far earned Rs 16.05 crore in India.
John Abraham's 'Vedaa', which also stars Sharvari Wagh, Abhishek Banerjee and Tamannaah Bhatia, has so far made Rs 15.50 crore.
