The trailer of Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra's 'Param Sundari' is now out.

The rom-com wave is making a grand return! After teasing audiences with hit tracks ‘Pardesiya’ and ‘Bheegi Saree’, the makers of ‘Param Sundari’ dropped its much-awaited trailer on Tuesday. Headlined by Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, the film promises a fun yet layered love story where romance meets cultural clashes, offering both playful moments and heartfelt drama.

Check out the trailer here:

The trailer opens inside a quaint Kerala church, where Param Sachdev (Sidharth), a quintessential Dilli ka munda, flirts effortlessly with Sundari (Janhvi), a gifted local dancer. Their meet-cute happens almost instantly after Param arrives in Kerala, setting the stage for a breezy bond peppered with Bollywood-style banter and light-hearted exchanges.

But just as the chemistry soars and their connection deepens, cracks appear – Sundari accuses Param of toying with people’s emotions, forcing him to win back her trust and that of those around them. The question looms large: can love survive misunderstandings and cultural divides?

Visually, the film is a love letter to Kerala’s charm – lush monsoon roads glistening with rain, serene backwater bike rides that promise escape, and the architectural grandeur of centuries-old churches. There’s even a standout moment evoking the magic of SRK and Kajol’s most iconic romantic sequences, giving it a nostalgic Bollywood touch.

The trailer’s showstopper comes right at the end when Sundari delivers a fiery monologue, calling Param and his friend “arrogant, entitled, and prejudiced North Indians.” She follows it up with a witty yet pointed South Indian cinema primer – name-dropping Rajinikanth from Tamil Nadu, Mohanlal from Kerala, Allu Arjun from Andhra, and Yash from Karnataka, making for a laugh-out-loud yet thought-provoking moment.

Fans are already hooked. One wrote, “Janhvi’s dialogue at the end was too funny, such a fun romantic movie after a long time. Old Bollywood is back!”

Another chimed in, “Bollywood’s old rom-com era is back. Saiyaara and now this. Looks promising.”

Others couldn’t stop praising Sidharth’s charisma, with comments like, “Sid is looking so so handsome as Param!” and “Thank god, a good rom-com! Will watch.”

Alongside Sidharth and Janhvi, the film features Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya in key roles.

Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan, ‘Param Sundari’ is set for an August 29 release. With music by Sachin–Jigar and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the soundtrack is designed to be as integral to the storytelling as the visuals. ‘Pardesiya’ has already emerged as a fan favourite, setting high expectations for the rest of the album.
