In the video, Suniel Shetty can be seen criticising the act, saying, “Tab se yeh bhaisahab alag alag dialogues bol rahe hain jo meri awaaz mein hain hi nahi. Itna ghatiya mimicry maine kabhi dekha hi nahi hai. Jab Suniel Shetty bolta hai toh ek mard ki tarah bolta hai… Yeh bachche ki tarah bol raha tha. Beta jab mimicry karte ho toh achi karni chahiye… Kharab nakal nahi karni chahiye.”
The mimicry artist, caught off guard, quickly apologised, saying he wasn’t intentionally trying to mimic the actor. But Suniel continued, advising him against even trying: “Koshish karna bhi mat beta. Abhi bahut time hai Suniel Shetty banne mein. Peeche bal bandha ne kuch nahi hota… Abhi bacha hai, lagta hai Suniel Shetty ki action films dekhi nahi hai isne.”
He later turned to the audience to thank them for attending the event.
While some fans empathised with Suniel Shetty’s frustration, others were critical of his behaviour. Comments ranged from calling his reaction “rude” to questioning his humility.
One user wrote, “It takes years to get a good reputation but only seconds for it to go away.” Another remarked, “This shows how insecure Suniel Shetty is. He should be embarrassed.” Some even compared his attitude to Govinda, saying both get easily offended by mimicry.
Suniel Shetty, who made his debut with ‘Balwaan’ (1992), has delivered memorable performances in films like ‘Mohra’, ‘Gopi Kishan’, ‘Border’, ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Dhadkan’ and ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’.
More recently, he appeared in ‘Hunter Season 2’ alongside Jackie Shroff. He will soon be seen in ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ – a comedy-drama boasting an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Paresh Rawal and Arshad Warsi.
Suniel Shetty is also set to reunite with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal for the much-awaited ‘Hera Pheri 3’, directed by Priyadarshan.
