Shah Rukh Khan has been in the showbiz industry for more than 30 years, and over this time frame, he has made quite a reputation for himself. Fans of the superstar know SRK for his down-to-earth nature and always being humble. In a recent interview, comedian Sunil Pal has claimed that back in tthe day, Shah Rukh Khan would often visit slums because one of his staff members lived there.
Sunil Pal said that SRK would quietly visit late at night, whenever there was a special occasion.
In a viral clip, Sunil Pal said, "Shah Rukh ke saath ye tha, ki Shah Rukh ka boy Subhash, ab to wo nahi raha. In the same clip, Sunil Pal also recalled meeting SRK during a tour in Singapore, where he presented his act in front of the star.
"I went for a tour to Singapore where the Morani brothers paid me Rs 20,000. There was a show held in a stadium there and I remember after the event Shah Rukh introduced every artist, including me, to the audience. Ganesh Hegde was also present there. He told me to come to green room and perform in front of SRK. He entered the room with a drink and cigarette in his hand, and I started mimicking his popular dialogues in front of him," said Sunil Pal.
Sunil Pal also said that SRK’s son Aryan Khan would attend some of these shows, and he also talked about how he performed for Aamir Khan once.
"After this, I remember going for Lagaan tour where Aamir Khan was present. At that time, Dil Chahta Hai and Lagaan were massive hits. I was told Aamir will take audition before the tour, as nothing goes ahead without his permission. Ashutosh Gowariker introduced me to Aamir and I mimicked my act," said Sunil Pal, while speaking to Bollywood Bubble.
"And what I observed about Aamir was he focused on increasing my confidence without thinking of accepting or rejecting. He fortunately laughed in first punch and agreed to take me for tour. In that tour I remember dancing with Preity Zinta on song ‘Piya Piya’,” he added.
Sunil Pal concluded that Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan are stars because they respect other artists and “don’t have an ego.”
“These superstars respect artists and their craft. That’s the reason they don’t have an ego. In fact, they are so simple and humble to an extent that Aamir won’t even mind sitting on the floor and casually chatting during discussions,” he said.
