Tamannaah Bhatia Summoned In Illegal IPL Streaming Case: Report
As per a media report, Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Wing for questioning regarding the illegal streaming of IPL 2023 matches.
Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who has starred in movies like 'Baahubali', 'Jailer' and 'Lust Stories 2' has landed into trouble. The Indian actress has been summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Wing for questioning regarding the illegal streaming of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 matches on Fairplay Application. For the unversed, this application is the sister app of Mahadev betting app. As per news agency ANI, this violates the broadcast rights of the Viacom 18 group.
As per several reports, Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by the officials for allegedly promoting the viewing of IPL matches on the Fairplay betting app.
She has been now asked to appear before the Cyber Cell for questioning. Her statement would be now recorded as a witness on April 29, 2024.
As per Hindustan Times, Sanjay Dutt's name has also emerged in connection with the ongoing case. He was also asked to appear for questioning, however, he was not able to do so due to his schedule. He has now asked for a new date.
Earlier, rapper Badshah and managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueliene Fernandez were also quizzed by the Maharashtra cyber police for allegedly promoting the betting app.
As per news agency ANI, this illegal streaming of IPL 2023 matches caused Viacom a loss of crores of rupees.
For the unversed, the entire case is based on the FIR filed by Viacom18 Group in 2023. The company alleged that some of the IPL 2023 games were illegally streamed on Fairplay.
On the work front, Tamannaah Bhatia is currently busy with ‘Vedaa’, co-starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh. She is also expected to make a special appearance in one of the songs of ‘Stree 2’.
Tamannaah Bhatia is also making headlines for her personal life. The actress is currently dating actor Vijay Varma, and they have often been papped together in the city.
