Triptii Dimri is no longer a lesser-known celebrity as the Bollywood actress made millions of fans with her appearance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest directorial venture ‘Animal’. The new Hindi movie stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role with Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Shakti Kapoor in key roles. In 'Animal', Triptii Dimri is playing Zoya Riaz, who is Ranvijay Singh’s (Ranbir Kapoor) lover. However, she is later revealed to be a mole. Triptii Dimri recently spoke about the portrayal of women in the film and her character Zoya.

In her new interview with The Quint, Triptii Dimri was also asked about the impact that films have on society, and if there’s a responsibility that artists feel about what they put out into the world.

Describing Zoya as “perfect the way she is”, Triptii Dimri said, “I see her as a very honest and sincere person, and I wouldn’t want to change a single thing about her.”

Asked about the “lick my shoe” scene, and whether it could influence people, the Bollywood actress said, “It depends on person to person. If you’re watching an action film, and the goons are beating up the hero, that doesn’t mean you go and beat up whoever you hate in life. Or, if someone is talking rudely to his wife or girlfriend, that doesn’t give you the license to go home and start talking the same way to your wife, or girlfriend, or whoever.”

Triptii Dimri said that people should look at movies as movies, and there is a need to “start humanising characters”.

The Bollywood actress said that people in real life have shades, and it’s important to reflect these complexities in movies. “It’s a long discussion,” Triptii Dimri admitted.

“There are people who do get affected, and they’re not wrong in saying what they’re saying. It’s their point of view, and they’re allowed to have an opinion. But it’s also a choice. If certain things don’t suit you, don’t watch them,” Triptii further said.

Triptii Dimri said that she’s still new in the industry, and admitted that she hasn’t thought much about an artist’s social responsibility.

The Bollywood actress was also asked if she recognises the difference in playing strong characters like the ones she did in ‘Bulbbul’ and ‘Qala’, and the one she played in ‘Animal’.

She said her responsibility is towards the story, and that she was questioned for certain creative choices in ‘Qala’ and ‘Bulbbul’ as well.

‘Animal’, which released in theatres alongside Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ on December 1, has earned more than Rs 450 crore in India, and more than Rs 750 crore worldwide.
