'Animal' actress Triptii Dimri has said that her parents were "rattled" after watching her intimate scene with Ranbir Kapoor.

Actress Triptii Dimri has become hugely popular after starring in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal', in which she played the character of a woman who ends up honey-trapping Ranbir Kapoor's character. Her involvement in the movie, and her character being asked to lick the protagonist’s shoe, stirred a massive controversy. As a whole, 'Animal' was bashed for promoting toxic masculinity, however, the film went on to do a business of more than Rs 500 crore in India. Triptii Dimri has given several acclaimed performances in movies like 'Laila Majnu', 'Bulbbul' and 'Qala', however, it was through her role in 'Animal', that the actress earned the moniker of "national crush".

In the latest entertainment news, Triptii Dimri has revealed how her parents reacted to her intimate scene with Ranbir Kapoor in 'Animal'.

“My parents were completely rattled when they saw it. We had to have a long discussion on why that scene was crucial,” Indian Express quoted Triptii as saying.

Reacting to her performance in 'Animal', Triptii said, "I’ve only received praise so far. I know my reasons for doing the film. Sandeep sir was clear that it was going to be a small role, but I found the character interesting. If we start making decisions based on what audiences are going to say, then as actors, we won’t ever be able to do what we want to do."

"I want to choose roles that push me out of my comfort zone. There’s a lot of advice on offer and I listen to it all, but it comes down to instinct. I might make mistakes along the way, but I’m allowed to," she added.

On the work front, Triptii Dimri will soon be sharing the screen with Kartik Aryan in 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3'. She also has 'Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam' and 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' in her kitty.

Speaking of 'Animal', the 2023 Hindi movie collected more than Rs 500 crore in India. Globally, it ended its run with a collection of more than Rs 900 crore.

The 2023 Hindi movie continues to receive criticism on social media for its portrayal of toxic masculinity, misogyny and violence. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his performance in ‘Animal’.
