As per Hindustan Times, Judge AS Sayyed of the special CBI court said that there was not enough evidence to hold Sooraj guilty in the case.

"Due to paucity of evidence, this court can't hold you (Sooraj Pancholi) guilty, hence acquitted," the Judge said, as per Hindustan Times.

For the unversed, Sooraj Pancholi is the son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab.

Jian Khan was only 25 years old when she was found dead in her Mumbai home in 2013.

Sooraj Pancholi was then arrested by Mumbai Police after a letter was found, which was written by Jiah Khan.

In the letter, she had alleged that Sooraj mentally and physically abused her.

"The charge of abetment to suicide has gone. But how did my child die? This is a case of murder...will approach the high court,” Jian Khan's mother Rabia Khan said after the special CBI court announced its verdict on Friday.

Sooraj Pancholi was last seen in 'Time To Dance' in 2021. He had made his Bollywood debut alongside Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty in 'Hero' in 2015.
