Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Bachchan recently engaged in a fun banter about movies and their famous fathers.

Amazon Prime Video India announced a slate of fresh projects in a star-studded event held in Mumbai on Tuesday. At the event, Abhishek Bachchan announced two films – one with director-choreographer Remo D’Souza and another movie with filmmaker Shoojit Sircar. After the announcement of Abhishek Bachchan’s films, Varun Dhawan asked him why he is “stealing” all his directors. For the unversed, Varun Dhawan worked with Shoojit Sircar for the 2018 movie ‘October’ and the actor collaborated with Remo D’Souza for ‘ABCD 2’.

Bringing an element of fun to the Prime Video India event, Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Bachchan indulged in banter on stage. A video of their fun banter is now going viral on Instagram.

Check out the video below:

Varun Dhawan, who hosted a segment at the starry event, welcomed Jr Bachchan on the stage and asked, “Why are you stealing all my directors?”

Abhishek Bachchan then jokingly responded to Varun Dhawan and said, “You’re my inspiration. I want to be like you.”

After Abhishek Bachchan called Varun Dhawan his “inspiration”, Varun Dhawan playfully responded to him by saying, “That’s a lie. You are our inspiration.”

Abhishek then said, “Give me your directors or give me your dad (David Dhawan).” To this, Varun Dhawan responded, “You give me your dad (Amitabh Bachchan), then,” and both started laughing after this.

Talking about his next film starring Abhishek Bachchan, Shoojit Sircar said at the event, “I’ve always tried to pick up subjects from ordinary lives, and make those characters extra ordinary. All the films that you saw and just make you smile looking at life. So, all the subjects that I’ve done are related to to me, I’ve seen those characters, I’ve lived with those characters whether it’s Dan from October, so this is a similar film where I can assure you that I can make you feel warm.”

For the unversed, Shoojit Sircar is known among the finest directors in Indian cinema. The filmmaker has delivered memorable movies like ‘Sardar Udham Singh’, ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Madras Cafe’, ‘Piku’, ‘October’ and ‘Gulabo Sitabo’.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan and Remo D’Souza’s collaboration is titled ‘Be Happy’, which also stars Nora Fatehi, Nasser, Inayat Verma, and Johnny Lever.
