Varun Dhawan is all set to reunite with David Dhawan for a new entertainer.

Varun Dhawan made his Bollywood debut alongside Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in Karan Johar’s 2012 film ‘Student of the Year’. Since then, he has delivered numerous successful performances in movies like ‘Badlapur’, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, ‘Judwaa 2’, ‘October’, and ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’. His charismatic screen presence and dancing prowess have earned him a large fan base. The Bollywood actor, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Baby John’, is now joining forces with his father David Dhawan for a new entertainer.

For the unversed, Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan have previously collaborated for movies like ‘Main Tera Hero’, ‘Judwaa 2’, and ‘Coolie No 1’.

Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news regarding Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan’s new movie on X (formerly Twitter). In the same tweet, he also revealed that the movie will be produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films. The upcoming entertainer is set to release in cinemas on October 2, 2025.

As per Pinkvilla, this movie will be an ‘out and out comedy’ that will celebrate family, love, and laughter.

In an old interview with Mid-Day, Varun Dhawan had candidly talked about his experience of working with his father and described him as a safe haven in the industry.

Varun Dhawan said, “Dad is the king of comedy. He has tackled the genre for three decades and has found success in each decade. When you are working with such an accomplished director who knows the genre and its details so well, you know [you're in good hands]. I feel safe when I work with my father.”

The father-son duo first joined hands for ‘Main Tera Hero’, which was released in 2014 and was a remake of the Telugu film ‘Kandireega’. The movie also starred Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D'Cruz.

Varun Dhawan reunited with David Dhawan in 2017 for ‘Judwaa 2’. This movie was also a remake of the 1997 film by the same name which was itself a Hindi remake of the 1994 Telugu film ‘Hello Brother’.

Backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the movie featured Varun playing twins Raja and Prem alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu as the female leads.

The last time Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan worked together on a project was in 2020 with ‘Coolie No. 1’. Another remake, this comedy masala film also starred Sara Ali Khan and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles.
