Despite facing stiff competition from Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal', 'Sam Bahadur' has managed to hold its ground, and the new Hindi movie has made more than Rs 25 crore in its opening weekend. 'Sam Bahadur' has received mixed reviews from film critics, however, the praise for Vicky Kaushal's performance has been unanimous. Several army officials and war veterans have said that Vicky Kaushal has got the body language of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw on point.
In the latest entertainment news, a video is going viral on social media, in which a war veteran, who served alongside Sam Manekshaw in Wellington, can be seen praising Vicky Kaushal's performance.
"You have the same walk, everything. Absolutely," said the war veteran.
Hearing this, Vicky Kaushal said, "Thank you so much, really means a lot. Just wanted to say thank you."

Talking about 'Sam Bahadur', the movie has made Rs 25.55 crore in its opening weekend, amidst an 'Animal' wave in the country.

"Going forward, Day 4 [Mon] is extremely crucial, it has to score in the same vicinity or thereabouts as Day 1 [Fri]," he added.

Apart from Vicky Kaushal, 'Sam Bahadur' also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
The film is said to be a tribute to Sam Manekshaw and his contribution to the Indian Army.
‘Sam Bahadur’ marks Vicky Kaushal’s reunion with his ‘Raazi’ director Meghna Gulzar. Vicky Kaushal is playing the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the film.
For the unversed, Sam Manekshaw was the first Indian Army officer to have been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal. He is also credited for India's victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, which led to the formation of Bangladesh.
'Sam Bahadur' also stars Neeraj Kabi and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Jawaharlal Nehru and Yahya Khan.
